Newsletter SEPTEMBER 11 & Panto Audition News

Hi,

Hope you’ve had a great summer – but it’s already pantomime time!

The 2011 AGM is Wednesday 7th September at 7pm.
It should be a short one this year as very little is being changed so there will be a PANTOMIME AUDITION WORKSHOP which is vital for everyone straight after the AGM and a well needed cup of tea

The newsletter is here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/63589450

AUDITION INFO:
Davy Jones and Coral - Page 1 " A flowing tide...." through to Page 2 "Enough! Back to your world of slime"

Cut- throat / Skull Duggery/ Cross Bones/ Nick- Page 10 "Yes, I think these two idiots.." through to Page 12" Oh i thought i was going to be rich"
PLEASE NOTE THIS MAY BE SPLIT (AS ITS LONG) TO JUDGE CERTAIN CHARACTERS IF NEEDED SO YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO REPEAT SOME PARTS OR READ PARTS YOU ARE NOT AUDITIONING FOR. HOWEVER YOU WILL BE TOLD WHEN YOU ARE AUDITIONING.

Dame and Captain Seasalt - Page 19 "Oh no, I've laddered my stockings" through to Page 20 " A quiche is that what it said!"

Robinson and Friday - Page 31 "Good grief, so there is someone...." through to Page 32 " Thats's alright. I can see we are going to
get on famously"

Juanita - Page 2 "Morning everyone" through to Page 3 " Oh alright . Come on folks"

Hocus Pocus and Mumbo Jumbo - Page 29 " Umbeezi ongarbu ..." through to page 30 "Prioner escape!"

Now you all have the scenes please let everyone know they are here and get practicing! Use the 7th as rehersal for your audition pieces and to help others with theirs. As mentioned you may be asked to read your chosen part or parts more than once in order to help us audition other people but you will be told which time you are being auditioned! We may also ask you to read other parts to help out. I am going to limit people to 3 auditions however would suggest 2 is more than enough as i want people to know a bit about their chosen character. Any problems or questions either ask myself or Rob via facebook page email or text.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! :)

Local Advertising

In and Around Magazines have been producing free interesting local magazines for the few years and since 2009 we have decided due to a tight budget that it was a great means to reach our community. The local paper costs £350+ for 1/4, where as a full colour page in our local Iver edition of the magazine is just £50 (charity rate).

The committee would just like to say a big hello and thank you to Angela, the only employee of In and Around for all her efforts in helping to boost our most recent shows.

“We've found regularly advertising with In and Around magazines to be by far the best way of letting people know about our pantomimes. Its much less expensive than the newspapers and because people keep the magazines, it is so much more effective.

I always argued that a office job just wasn't for me. The prospect of being behind a desk, 9-5...

But...

I love it.
I does help to have some pretty cool work colleagues and compare to the high stress and anxiety of running around looking after customers in a pub restaurant or being the vomit responder in a major theme park. Its an odd feeling, people are honestly happy and grateful for my time and help, and no one so far has been horrible, homophobic or drunk.

On my 3rd day they asked me would I like to extend my 4 weeks to 7 mnths.

So I'm now on the helpline 9-5pm, helping customers with faulty tools, lawnmowers, dremel and Skil, Bosch, Atco and Qualcast. As long as you have your receipt and its within warranty BOSCH will repair/replace free of charge (courier inclusive).

So please don't bin those reciepts! Its a standard 2years warranty from date of purchase on Dremel, Bosch Green/DIY, Bosch Garden, SKIL and Rotozip. 3 years if registered on BOSCH Blue/Professional and on Qualcast its 5years parts and 2yrs labour.

If you do bin your reciept, its your fault! Lol.

Oh and a quick side line - there is someone who is making my life and those nearest a misery. We both agree that counselling is a massive step but without it you will keep being nasty, aggressive and a arrogant wanker. Unless you help yourself, I can not help you. As my readers know I have my own issues. So until you start to help yourself and you book that appointment, I don't want you in my life - which is your fault because we both know I have tried.

Sorry to end on a low.

Much love.

My first week as a adult

-----Original Messaage

Before my first day I got nervous, I mean mentally: yet I had met most of my co-workers and knew the building as I've been here so many times.

Suffice to say I pushed myself and I really enjoyed it. It pays a lot better than pub work and its no where near as stressful.

After my first day I had another first, yoga. Now I went in with a 'I'm gonna be a idiot' mind but actually I impressed myself. It was fun, relaxing and most of all I had no idea my body did those things. (And I don't mean fart)

Anyway, back to my desk. Its time to bet loose on the general public as they return their tools, shredders, lawnmowers, pressure washers, laser guides and much much more.

Opening weekend for record-selling local panto!

Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs hits the stage of the Iver Heath Village Hall this weekend for the three of five shows. All of which have seen record sales. Chairwoman and Box Office manager Sandra Corcoran, who won the regional final of HiQ Heroes 2010, said "Its been a difficult year, especially with our grant funding being cut, but its fantastic to see the community pull together and support the club".

The club, which opened in 1947, has over 40 members ranging from seven to pensioners. Dame and show Director, Matt Streuli (21), said "I'm so proud of everyone. The talent of our teenagers, children and adults is amazing." Details of show and pictures, including a sneak peak at the awe-inspiring magic mirror are at http://www.ihdc.co.uk/ and the club's Facebook; http://on.fb.me/gVnnVl

The box office, and further information is on 01753 652 616
